Testbed Description

The Rack testbed at the Delft University of Technology is distributed around the office rooms at the 9th floor of the EWI building. The testbed consist of 108 SOWNet G-Node G301, 24 SOWNet T-Node and 8 Tmote Sky. The G-Nodes are connected to Alix.1D mini-PC via both USB for programming and via GPIO to control the I/O pins of the G-Node and simulate sensors. The T-Nodes and Tmote Sky motes are connected via USB to Linksys NSLU2. The T-Nodes are also connected to the NSLU2 via an additional board for accurately capturing the energy consumption.

The sensor nodes have the following specification:

  • SOWNet G-Node G301
    • Texas Instruments MSP430F2418 (16 MHz, 116 KB ROM, 8 KB RAM)
    • Texas Instruments CC1101 (868 MHz, 500 kbps)
    • Atmel AT45DB081D (8 Mb flash)
  • SOWNet T-Node
    • Atmel ATmega 128L (8 MHz, 128 KB ROM, 4 KB RAM)
    • Texas Instruments CC1000 (868 MHz, 38.4 kbps)
    • Atmel AT45DB041B (4 Mb flash)
  • Tmote Sky
    • Texas Instruments MSP430F1611 (8 MHz, 48 KB ROM, 10 KB RAM)
    • Texas Instruments CC2420 (2.4 GHz, 250 kpbs)
    • STMicroelectronics M25P80 (8 Mb flash)
